The Photographers' Gallery is delighted to announce that Sarah Pickering is this year's recipient of The Photographers' Gallery Graduate Award 2005. Pickering was selected from this year's MA Course in Photography at the Royal College of Art. The Photographers' Gallery Graduate Award has been presented to graduating photographers from the MA Course in Photography at the Royal College of Art since 1998. This award aims to recognise the work of a photographer who has produced a particularly innovative and creative body of work. The annual selection is made by the curators of the Programming Department following the MA Degree show. The selected photographer is presented with ?200.00 worth of vouchers to spend at The Photographers' Gallery Bookshop where they can choose from over 5,000 titles including photographic monographs, limited edition books and catalogues. The recipient of The Photographers' Gallery Graduate Award 2004 was Idris Khan. Since then his work has been included at The Photographers' Gallery presentation at ParisPhoto 2004 and in the group exhibition Photography 2005 (Jan-Feb 2005) at Victoria Miro Gallery, London.
