E-wasteland is a series of portraits and landscapes shot over four months in workshops, IT production and recycling centres throughout India, showing the impact of Western electronic waste on local communities.
20 – 50 million tons of electronic waste is generated annually worldwide and much is shipped, illegally, from Europe, the UK and the USA to India and other developing countries for ‘recycling’. India has become one of the world’s largest dumping grounds for this e-waste that is highly toxic to humans, animals and the environment.
